ULAK Communications has been awarded the prestigious “A Certificate” under the Presidency of Defense Industries’ (SSB) Industrial Competency Assessment and Support Program (EYDEP), marking the highest level of recognition within the initiative.
Valid for five years, the certification confirms ULAK’s excellence in product development, production capacity, human resources, process management, and technological infrastructure. It places the company among a select group of defense industry players officially recognized by the Turkish government for their advanced capabilities.
EYDEP is a certification system that evaluates companies within the defense ecosystem based on objective criteria such as production quality, workforce expertise, and technology infrastructure. Firms scoring between 85 and 100 points receive an A Certificate, while those scoring between 70–84 and 50–69 are awarded B and C Certificates respectively. Companies certified at level C or above qualify to participate in defense projects.
The A Certificate grants companies the right to act as prime contractors in SSB-led programs and to bid directly on large-scale projects tailored to the needs of the Turkish Armed Forces. Internationally, A-level firms are also recognized as reliable suppliers, strengthening their export prospects.
Ruşen Kömürcü, General Manager of ULAK Communications, emphasized that the achievement reflects years of sustained R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance efforts. “This certification is proof of our determination to deliver indigenous solutions by addressing real field requirements and reducing Turkey’s dependency on foreign communication technologies,” he said.
