Türkiye’s defense and aerospace sector reached a new milestone in August 2025, achieving a 97.3% year-on-year surge with exports totaling $834 million. From January to August, the industry recorded a cumulative export value of $5.42 billion, marking a 45% increase compared to the same period last year.
President of the Defense Industry Agency (SSB), Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün, highlighted the significance of the figures, noting that the sector’s strong upward trajectory reflects both technological advancement and growing international partnerships.
“As the Defense Industry Agency, we are working tirelessly to ensure the sustainability of exports through international cooperation and high value-added, advanced technology products,” Görgün said. “This success chain, extending from our prime contractors to SMEs, will continue to advance even further.”
He also emphasized alignment with Türkiye’s national export strategy:
“In line with the export targets set by our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, our industry will keep working day and night to deliver new achievements. I wholeheartedly congratulate all our companies, engineers, technicians, and agency staff who contributed to this success. For a Türkiye that grows with national technologies, our efforts will remain relentless.”
The sector’s latest performance underscores Türkiye’s rising profile in global defense and aerospace markets, with expectations for further record-breaking achievements in the coming months.
