Turkey and Guatemala have signed a Military Framework Agreement aimed at enhancing bilateral defense cooperation. The agreement was formalized during the 17th International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF 2025), currently being held at the Istanbul Expo Center.
The signing ceremony took place with the participation of Turkish Minister of National Defense, Yaşar Güler, and Guatemalan Minister of Defense, Henry Saenz Ramos. The agreement marks a significant step in strengthening military ties between the two countries.
IDEF 2025, organized under the auspices of the Turkish Ministry of National Defense and supported by the Presidency of Defense Industries, is managed by the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation and organized by KFA Fuarcılık AŞ. The event has drawn defense delegations, companies, and decision-makers from around the world.
Following the signing, both ministers posed for a photo to mark the occasion. No further details about the scope or specific content of the agreement were disclosed during the ceremony.
The deal highlights Turkey’s expanding defense diplomacy, particularly with countries in Central and South America, as Ankara seeks to deepen strategic partnerships beyond its immediate region.
