Istanbul — August 28, 2025 — The maritime edition of Turkey’s flagship technology and innovation festival, TEKNOFEST “Blue Homeland”, has officially opened its doors at the Istanbul Naval Shipyard Command, showcasing the country’s advances in naval and underwater technologies.

Organized under the vision of the National Technology Initiative, TEKNOFEST Blue Homeland is being held in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Technology, the Ministry of National Defense, and the Turkey Technology Team Foundation (T3 Foundation), with TRT as its communication partner.

The event, which will run until August 31, brings together technology enthusiasts, defense industry professionals, and the public with a focus on maritime and underwater innovations. Public access will be available on August 30–31, with visits organized in three daily sessions (09:00–12:00, 12:00–15:00, and 15:00–18:00). Each visitor will be permitted entry for a single session.


Competitions and Showcases

The program will feature a series of competitions highlighting next-generation naval systems, including the Unmanned Underwater Systems Contest, the Underwater Rocket Contest, and the Unmanned Surface Vehicle Contest.

Visitors will also have the rare opportunity to tour some of the Turkish Navy’s most advanced vessels, such as the TCG Anadolu, TCG Istanbul, TCG Burgazada, TCG Oruçreis, TCG Nusret, TCG Sakarya, and TCG Hızırreis.

Interactive attractions, including virtual reality simulators, special demonstrations by Turkey’s elite Underwater Offense (SAT) and Underwater Defense (SAS) Commands, and the “Blue Homeland Time Tunnel” exhibition, aim to provide a dynamic and immersive visitor experience.


High-Level Attendance Expected

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is expected to attend the opening day and deliver a keynote address, underlining the government’s commitment to strengthening Turkey’s defense industry and maritime innovation under the “Mavi Vatan” (Blue Homeland) doctrine.
