President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan emphasized Turkey’s commitment to fully supporting its armed forces, highlighting significant advancements in personnel, training, equipment, and technological capabilities. Speaking at a graduation ceremony for the country’s elite National Defense University, Erdoğan reflected on Turkey’s progress over the past nine years, stating, “Our Armed Forces today are stronger, more disciplined, and more capable than ever before. We will continue to support our military with all available resources.”

Erdoğan noted recent achievements, including the delivery of 47 vehicles equipped with the “Iron Dome” system through ASELSAN and the demonstration of Turkey’s maritime strength at TEKNOFEST Mavi Vatan. He promised further milestones in the near future, reinforcing the guiding principle: “Strong Turkey, Strong Army.”

Addressing the graduating cadets, Erdoğan highlighted the significance of their new responsibilities, saying, “You are now wearing the honorable uniform entrusted to us by our martyrs and veterans. As proud members of the Prophet’s army, you will carry out vital duties with integrity and dedication. Remember, you are the guarantors of our nation’s enduring victories and freedoms.”

The President reminded cadets of Turkey’s ethical and humanitarian heritage, noting, “You belong to a noble nation that, throughout history, has never engaged in oppression, genocide, or exploitation, and has always upheld human values even in war. Uphold this legacy, and never betray the trust of your people, your families, or your commanders.”

Erdoğan also addressed contemporary conflicts, including the situation in Gaza, urging cadets to act with justice, mercy, and compassion. “Unlike those blinded by hatred and violence, we will never compromise on fairness and humanity. I expect each of you to carry these principles into your service.”

Highlighting the importance of discipline, Erdoğan quoted Mustafa Kemal Atatürk: “An army with perfect discipline maintains its moral strength even in the toughest phases of battle. A disorderly army collapses at the first retreat.” He stressed that Turkey’s military effectiveness relies on strict adherence to core principles, and that any lapse could carry severe consequences for both the armed forces and the state.

Erdoğan also extended his gratitude to instructors, commanders, and all personnel involved in the cadets’ education, acknowledging the growing international presence at the National Defense University—from 27 countries nine years ago to 48 this year.

Looking beyond national borders, Erdoğan highlighted expanding military cooperation with neighboring Syria following its new government, including joint training programs. He underscored the importance of strong personal and professional ties with foreign military personnel as a foundation for future collaborative initiatives.

Concluding his remarks, Erdoğan reaffirmed the overarching principle guiding the Turkish Armed Forces: “Regardless of our rank or title, we are all servants of our nation. Every branch—military, police, gendarmerie, coast guard, and intelligence—is dedicated to serving our people.”
