President Erdoğan Calls for Dialogue on Pakistan-India Tensions: “Dialogue is Essential for Regional Peace”

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in his recent statements regarding the escalating tensions between Pakistan and India, particularly stemming from the Kashmir issue, called on both parties to exercise restraint and emphasized that problems should be resolved through dialogue and peaceful means.

Stating that the preservation of regional stability and the establishment of peace are of great importance, Erdoğan said, “It is crucial for the parties to avoid escalating tensions and to choose the path of dialogue.” He underscored the importance of Turkey’s relations with both countries. “As Turkey, we are ready to support both countries in this challenging process and to mediate,” Erdoğan stated.

Expressing his deep concern over the rising tensions in the region, Erdoğan also called on the international community to take responsibility. “The international community also needs to play a constructive role in this sensitive period and bring the parties to the negotiating table,” he said.

Full Support to Pakistan on the Kashmir Issue: “We Understand Their Rightful Concerns”

In his specific evaluations regarding the Kashmir issue, President Erdoğan, by articulating Pakistan’s legitimate concerns on this matter, affirmed Turkey’s full support for Pakistan.

“We believe that a fair and lasting solution should be found to the Kashmir issue within the framework of international law and United Nations resolutions,” Erdoğan stated, emphasizing Turkey’s clear stance on the issue. “We understand and support Pakistan’s rightful concerns on this matter. The international community needs to take a more active role in protecting the legitimate rights of the Kashmiri people and ensuring lasting peace in the region,” he added.

Highlighting the historical ties and brotherhood between Pakistan and Turkey, Erdoğan said, “Pakistan has always been an important friend and ally for Turkey. We will continue to stand by Pakistan in this difficult process.”

Noting that Turkey continues its diplomatic efforts to prevent the escalation of tensions in the region and to contribute to finding a peaceful solution, Erdoğan concluded, “We will continue our discussions with all parties to maintain peace and stability in the region. Turkey is ready to fulfill its responsibility in this critical process.”

President Erdoğan’s statements are seen as a reflection of Turkey’s efforts to de-escalate tensions in the region and find solutions through dialogue, as well as a demonstration of its strong support for Pakistan.
