Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone call with the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to discuss the growing regional instability triggered by escalating hostilities between Israel and Iran.

According to a statement from the Turkish Directorate of Communications, the two leaders addressed bilateral relations, the ongoing Israel-Iran confrontation, and other key regional developments.

President Erdoğan emphasized that the cycle of violence initiated by Israeli strikes on Iran poses a serious threat to the broader security of the region. He warned that the Middle East cannot withstand the consequences of another war and highlighted Ankara’s ongoing diplomatic efforts to de-escalate the conflict.

“This current escalation must not overshadow the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza,” Erdoğan said during the call, underlining the urgency of maintaining focus on the suffering in the besieged enclave.

He also reiterated that the resolution of disputes with Iran, particularly regarding its nuclear program, must come through a return to the negotiating table—not through further militarization.

President Erdoğan cautioned that if the current tensions persist unchecked, not only Gaza but also the West Bank and East Jerusalem could face intensified threats of occupation. He reaffirmed Turkey’s commitment to pursuing diplomacy to prevent further deterioration in the region.
