F-35I Fighter Jets: Latest Delivery to Israeli Air Force
**The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has successfully received three additional F-35I fighter jets from Lockheed Martin, a significant milestone in enhancing Israel’s aerial capabilities. These state-of-the-art jets landed at Nevatim Air Base, bringing the total number of F-35 fighters acquired to 42 out of an initial order of 50. The latest additions, which were delivered just last week, will be integrated into the 116th Squadron, also known as “Lions of the South,” further strengthening the Israeli Air Force’s operational readiness.**
The arrival of these F-35I jets marks a crucial step in Israel’s defense strategy. Previous reports highlighted that within the next two months, another three aircraft are expected to join the Israeli fleet. The remaining F-35s from the purchase agreement are set to be delivered through 2026. In a recent agreement reached in 2023, Israel has also committed to acquiring an additional 25 F-35s, which will expand the fleet to a total of 75. This additional order is intended to establish a third squadron, with deliveries slated to begin in 2027.
