President Erdoğan stated that they are conducting this three-country visit during a period of significant debates both regionally and globally.

Referring to the end of the 13.5-year-long oppression and conflict in Syria on December 8, Erdoğan said, “We believe that Syria, under the wise leadership of President Assad, will, God willing, achieve stability in the shortest time possible.”

Erdoğan continued his speech with the following words:

“The brutal crimes committed by the Ba’ath regime, including the Tadamon, Hama, and Eastern Ghouta massacres, are being and will continue to be accounted for one by one. As mass graves are uncovered in different parts of the country, the bloody face of the Assad regime and its militias is being exposed. After 471 days of genocide in Gaza, a temporary ceasefire was achieved on January 19, thanks in part to our efforts. Despite Israel’s maneuvers, prisoner and detainee exchanges continue. We are pleased to observe that Hamas has remained true to its word. Although aid to Gaza, which has been under a severe blockade for 15 months, has not reached the desired level, it has thankfully begun to arrive. However, we unfortunately see that the Israeli administration, rather than making the ceasefire permanent, has more sinister and inhumane plans in mind. Let me be clear: the proposals brought forward by the new American administration regarding Gaza, under pressure from the Zionist lobby, have no aspect worth considering or discussing from our perspective. These are entirely futile efforts, like beating water in a mortar. No one has the power to remove the people of Gaza from their ancestral and eternal homeland. Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem are all part of Palestine, and Palestine belongs to the Palestinians.”
