Türkiye’s defense industry has marked another milestone in naval capabilities with a successful live-fire test of the National Vertical Launch System (MİDLAS) developed by ROKETSAN, integrated aboard the TCG İstanbul frigate, launching a HİSAR-D RF missile. The test, conducted off the coast of Sinop, demonstrated the seamless integration and performance of multiple nationally developed systems.

Announcing the achievement on his Next Social account, President of the Defense Industry Agency (SSB) Haluk Görgün emphasized that “a new success story has risen from the horizons of the Blue Homeland,” underscoring the flawless coordination of the systems involved.

“This repeated firing trial has once again proven the reliability of our systems, our determination to improve with every attempt, and the strong culture of collaboration within our defense industry,” Görgün stated.
“From ASELSAN to HAVELSAN, STM to ROKETSAN, the synergy created by all our teams is strengthening the Turkish Naval Forces and bringing strategic capabilities to our nation.”

The test featured a suite of advanced technologies developed by ASELSAN, including:

  • CENK 400-N AESA 4D Search Radar for target detection
  • AKREP 300-N Fire Control Radar initiating engagement
  • HİSAR-D Fire Control System delivering effective interception solutions
  • GÜDÜ 200-MG Data Link Ground Equipment and missile-borne data link enabling two-way communication during flight
  • AGRAS RF Seeker Head for terminal phase guidance

During the engagement, the integrated systems successfully detected and tracked the target in challenging maritime conditions, guided the missile through mid-course updates, and achieved a precise terminal interception.

The trial demonstrated not only the operational effectiveness of MİDLAS and HİSAR-D RF in naval combat scenarios but also Türkiye’s ability to field fully integrated indigenous solutions for modern maritime warfare.

Görgün extended his gratitude to all engineers, defense companies, and Turkish Naval Forces personnel who contributed to the achievement, highlighting their dedication to the nation’s security.
