ASELSAN Radar Production: Capacity Investments for Growth
**ASELSAN is making significant strides in expanding its radar production capabilities. The company is committed to enhancing its robust production capacity in radar technologies and has been actively investing in this area. In recent years, ASELSAN has achieved notable advancements in AESA-based radar technologies, positioning itself as one of the foremost design and production centers for radar globally. This progress has led to a surge in overseas orders, reflecting the company’s growing international footprint.**
To accommodate the rising demand for its radar technologies, ASELSAN inaugurated its Radar Integration Center at the beginning of this year, following a substantial $50 million investment. This new facility has resulted in considerable improvements in both capacity and operational efficiency. Moreover, ASELSAN is in the process of constructing an additional facility that aims to triple its current radar production capacity, aligning with its ambitious growth targets. This new site will encompass 73,000 square meters of enclosed space and is projected to be completed by the end of 2027.
ASELSAN’s investment strategy extends beyond radar technologies, with a notable focus on electro-optical systems. Recently, the company announced the activation of its FLIR production facility, which required an investment of $40 million. This facility was launched in response to a surge in demand for high-precision technologies. It is anticipated that the facility will produce a range of products, including imaging systems, thermal cameras, and night vision devices, all designed for use in various security and monitoring applications for both air and ground vehicles.
The FLIR facility will play a key role in producing essential sensors like the TOYGUN Integrated Electro-Optical Sensor System. This system is crucial for the National Combat Aircraft KAAN and other manned and unmanned combat aircraft, showcasing ASELSAN’s commitment to supporting national defense initiatives. Additionally, the company aims to manufacture high-performance electro-optical systems, including the CATS Electro-Optical System, which is currently deployed in TB2 drones, and the ASELFLIR-500, which began mass production earlier this year.
Furthermore, ASELSAN anticipates establishing new contracts with the SSB for the TOYGUN Integrated Electro-Optical Sensor System, indicating ongoing collaboration and support for military advancements. This proactive approach to investment and innovation underscores ASELSAN’s role as a key player in the defense technology sector, both domestically and on the international stage.
