Bayraktar TB2 UAV Reaches New Heights with ANTIDOT 2-U/S
**The Bayraktar TB2 unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) has marked a significant milestone by successfully completing a flight test with the ANTIDOT-2U/S electronic support pod, developed by ASELSAN. Baykar announced this achievement through their official X account, providing footage of the flight that showcases the capabilities of this advanced system.**
The ANTIDOT 2-U/S pod is designed to enhance the operational efficiency of UAVs, functioning as an electronic support system that detects and identifies signals from enemy air defense radar systems. This innovative technology not only captures and digitally records these signals but also accurately determines the direction of threats, providing vital information for strategic decision-making.
One of the key features of the ANTIDOT 2-U/S is its ability to transmit essential data in real-time to ground control stations via the UAV’s communication channels. This capability allows for swift responses to potential threats. Furthermore, the system can be easily integrated into tactical UAVs that are equipped to carry miniature munitions, giving operators the flexibility to choose between deploying munitions or using the electronic support pod during missions.
At the SAHA EXPO 2024, ASELSAN showcased the ANTIDOT Electronic Warfare System family, which includes three distinct products. Haluk Görgün, the President of the Defense Industry, highlighted the significance of these systems, stating, “We attended the introductory meeting of the new electronic warfare pods developed by ASELSAN, which will enhance our capabilities in protecting our airspace. The ANTIDOT 2-U/S System, in particular, is pivotal in transforming UAVs into powerful electronic warfare platforms.”
The ANTIDOT 2-U/S system features a unique pod design and offers a receiver architecture that provides a wide instantaneous bandwidth with high sensitivity. Its extensive frequency and directional coverage ensures a high probability of detection, making it a formidable tool in electronic warfare.
Additional capabilities of the ANTIDOT 2-U/S include high measurement accuracy of parameters, detailed signal detection and recording, and both automatic and manual threat identification. The system’s user-friendly interface and relatively low power consumption of 400W make it an efficient choice for UAV operations.
Weighing in at 30 kg, the ANTIDOT 2-U/S is a lightweight addition to the Bayraktar TB2, further enhancing its operational capabilities in complex environments. With these advancements, ASELSAN continues to push the boundaries of electronic warfare technology, ensuring that Turkey remains at the forefront of defense innovation.
