Damascus, Syria – Turkey’s National Intelligence Organization (MIT) Chief, İbrahim Kalın, held high-level talks with Syrian President Ahmed Shara in the Syrian capital, Damascus, underscoring Ankara’s readiness to provide comprehensive support to the Damascus administration.

During the meeting, the two officials discussed bilateral and regional security issues, with particular focus on the challenges facing Syria’s new government. Sources from Turkey’s security apparatus confirmed that Turkey reaffirmed its commitment to assisting Syria in addressing both internal and external threats.

Highlighting the importance of Syria’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, political stability, and social peace, Kalın emphasized that Turkey “stands firmly by Syria at all times.” He further stated that Turkey is prepared to offer any assistance necessary to support the Syrian government in its efforts to maintain security and stability.
