Mali has officially announced the launch of the Bamako Expo (BAMEX) 2025, a defense and security fair set to take place in the capital Bamako from November 11 to 14. The event, organized exclusively for Turkish defense companies including Baykar, ASELSAN, and MKE, marks the first exhibition of its kind in the country.
The announcement was made at a press conference at Bamako’s International Conference Center, attended by Mali’s Minister of Security and Civil Protection, Major General Daoud Aly Mohammedine, alongside BAMEX National Organizing Commission Chairman Amadou Degueni and Corporate Communications Director Alaattin Doğru, as well as senior government officials.

Minister Mohammedine underlined the importance of the event, describing BAMEX as “a unique platform that highlights the strategic contributions, expertise, and technological innovations of our Turkish partners in the fields of security and defense.” He stressed that the fair is not merely about showcasing military technology, but also about strengthening cooperation:
“BAMEX is a concrete manifestation of Turkey–Africa partnership. It provides African nations with the opportunity to explore tailored solutions, enhance operational capabilities, and establish lasting strategic partnerships that reinforce peace, security, and stability on the continent.”
BAMEX National Organizing Commission Chairman Amadou Degueni noted that the fair signals a turning point for Africa’s future:
“Through BAMEX, Africa is entering a new era of self-determination and resilience in security. With around 30 Turkish defense companies present, participants will showcase innovative solutions to government delegations, defense professionals, and a broad audience.”
Positioned at the crossroads of defense cooperation and strategic partnership, BAMEX 2025 is set to serve as a milestone not only for Mali but for Africa at large—offering a stage where Turkey’s expanding defense industry meets the continent’s growing demand for security, technology, and sustainable collaboration.
