As part of this year’s inaugural TEKNOFEST Mavi Vatan, Roketsan is leading a series of innovative competitions aimed at engaging young engineers in the future of Turkey’s maritime defense. The event, organized by the Turkey Technology Team Foundation (T3 Foundation) with TRT as Communication Partner and in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Technology and the Ministry of National Defense, is being held at the Istanbul Naval Shipyard Command.

Roketsan’s flagship initiative, the Underwater Rocket Competition, allows participants to design, develop, and successfully operate underwater rocket systems. Conducted for the first time in Turkey, the competition provides a platform for aspiring engineers to demonstrate their technical skills and develop innovative solutions that could shape the country’s future defense technologies.

Selçuk Bayraktar, Chairman of the TEKNOFEST Board and T3 Foundation Board of Trustees, Haluk Görgün, Head of the Defense Industry Agency, and Murat İkinci, CEO of Roketsan, visited the competition area to witness the enthusiasm of the young participants firsthand.

Speaking about the initiative, İkinci said, “This competition is a valuable opportunity for our young engineers who will carry Turkey’s leadership in defense technologies to the seas. Underwater rocket technologies represent one of the strategic fields of the future. At Roketsan, we are proud to support and encourage our young engineers.”

In addition to the Underwater Rocket Competition, TEKNOFEST Mavi Vatan also features the Unmanned Underwater Systems Competition and the Unmanned Surface Vehicle Competition, showcasing Turkey’s indigenous maritime technologies. The festival aims to transmit maritime culture to younger generations and demonstrate the country’s engineering capabilities at sea to a global audience.
