Turkey’s defense and aerospace industry has reached an all-time high in exports, according to the latest figures released by the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM).
In the first 11 months of 2024, the sector recorded $637 million in exports during November alone, marking a 32.3% increase compared to the same month last year. The total exports over the past 12 months rose by 18.4%, reaching $6.479 billion, setting a new benchmark for the industry.
A Global Player in Defense
President of the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB), Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün, highlighted the rapid growth and international success of Turkey’s defense sector:
“Our defense industry is growing, evolving, and becoming stronger every day. With our broad, skilled, and dynamic ecosystem, as well as field-proven systems and increasing export potential, Turkey has established itself as a major player in the global arena. Behind this growth is the unwavering support of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the belief in the strength of Turkish engineering.”
Turkish defense companies achieved a remarkable milestone in 2024, exporting products to 178 countries worldwide. Görgün emphasized that the focus moving forward will be on increasing the number of exporting companies, supporting both large-scale enterprises and SMEs, and making export a sustainable pillar for the entire sector.

SSB’s international collaboration initiatives have enabled Turkish defense firms to expand their footprint in global markets. Görgün underscored the importance of diversifying export markets, ensuring that Turkish products reach all corners of the globe. The ultimate goal, he said, is sustainable growth driven by innovation and high value-added exports.
“We congratulate all defense industry companies and employees who have contributed directly or indirectly to this success. These achievements will bring significant benefits to our country’s development,” Görgün concluded.
