During the discussions, the Council assessed significant political, military, economic, and social developments from 2024 that impact national security. The potential challenges anticipated in 2025, along with the necessary actions and measures, were thoroughly deliberated.

The Council also reviewed the commendable operations conducted both domestically and internationally against various threats to national unity. This included challenges posed by terrorist organizations such as PKK/KCK-PYD/YPG, FETÖ, and ISIS, as well as recent international events.

A strong commitment was reiterated to support the newly formed government in Syria. The Council emphasized the importance of preserving Syria’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and political unity, while also ensuring the fundamental rights of all ethnic and religious groups in the country.

It was made clear that the PKK/KCK-PYD/YPG would not be permitted to take advantage of the current situation in Syria. The Council reaffirmed its stance on eliminating all terrorist organizations that threaten the peace of friendly nations in the region.

The statement highlighted the need for a lasting ceasefire in Gaza, viewing it as essential for a fair resolution of the Palestinian issue. The Council also stressed the importance of providing unhindered humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza promptly.

Concerns were raised regarding Israel’s aggressive actions, which violate international law and encroach upon Syrian territory, indicating that such actions hinder efforts to maintain regional stability.

Turkey expressed its commitment to intensifying efforts to resolve conflicts worldwide, especially in Africa, the Middle East, and the Balkans, before they escalate into armed confrontations. The ultimate goal remains to foster peace and stability globally.
